General comments
This product is made by Dr. Rodan and Dr. Field, the same two doctors who have made the Proactiv acne treatment. The formula seems to be similar to that product, and appears to be mainly based on the antibacterial effect of benzoyl peroxide. Sulfur dries the sebum.
FDA-approved agents
Benzoyl peroxide and sulfur will handle some of the problems with acne. We would expect to see a substance that would specifically unclog the pores, such as salisylic acid.
Lasting effects
In the opinion of Acne Cures Guide, the product will cease working almost immediately when use is discontinued.
Natural ingredients
The treatment does include a number of natural ingredients, such as rosemary and aloa barbadensis. These are mainly antioxidant substances that enliven the skin and kill bacteria, although their effects in skin products have not been scientifically verified. They should contribute to the effectiveness against acne.
Side effects
Some users have reported redness, dryness and irritation of the skin when using Unblemish.
Fragrance
The fragrance of all the products in the treatment system is very pleasant. Acne Cures Guide will only give a five-star rating when the product has no fragrance at any time in the application process.
Noticeability
The products appear invisible on the skin.
Completeness
The treatment comes with a clarifying toner, a benzoyl peroxide treatment, and a sulfur wash. It would be more complete if it also came with a product containing salisylic acid.
Price
Unblemish has the highest price of the products we have compared. It seems expensive for what one can expect.
Conclusion
A quality product from a good manufacturer. There are few user reviews to be found of this product, which is often sold by multi-level marketing.
